People decorate their homes both outside (in front of homes) and inside (especially the prayer rooms) with paintings of this nature. These paintings are made of crushed tiny cereals consisting mostly rice. When you do one outside in front of house birds, chicken or pigeons and ants visit, gather to pick up food and people believe it’s a surefire way of communicating to god that you did something good for the day. It’s India.
